Sinas, Roque and now Panelo caught violating health protocols

LESS than a month after presidential spokesperson Harry Roque figured in a viral footage that saw him display his singing prowess in a Baguio City videoke bar in the midst of the wrath being unleashed by Typhoon Ulysses, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo now gets to feel the stardom after netizens posted nasty remarks on a photo that saw him sing in a Makati City restaurant less than a week ago.

Panelo, however, denied violating health protocols.

The government has been strictly imposing a range of restrictions which include public videoke singing and karaoke sessions, as the Department of Health (DOH) hinted use of microphones transmits a high viral load.

Panelo said he wore a face shield while singing and other guests observed one-meter distancing. However, the viral photo doesn’t seem to show one-meter distance from him and two other companions on the table.

Moreover, the presidential lawyer claimed that “the restaurant was outdoor not indoor, scientists and doctors say the risk of transmission of the virus is very low. In other words, there was no violation of the health protocols.”

Back in May, then Metro Manila police chief, now Philippine National Police Director General Debold Sinas also found himself at the receiving end of a public outrage over the controversial mañanita inside the Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

Malacañang has yet to issue a statement on the issue as of press time.
