OLONGAPO City Mayor Atty. Rolen Paulino Jr. announced that the city has officially received the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The SGLG is a highly coveted recognition given to local government units (LGUs) that excel in key areas, including transparency and good governance, disaster preparedness, support for national projects, accountability, efficient delivery of basic and frontline services, proper utilization of public funds, and the implementation of programs for education, health, sports, and other sectors.
In his statement, Mayor Paulino expressed pride in the city’s accomplishment, emphasizing that only a select few LGUs nationwide receive the honor. “This is not just my achievement but ours as residents of Olongapo,” he said, attributing the success to the collective efforts of local government officials and employees.
The mayor also extended his gratitude to the people of Olongapo for their cooperation and support in ensuring good governance and efficient public service.
“Congratulations to all of us,” Paulino added. “God bless us all, and God bless Olongapo!”
The SGLG award reflects Olongapo City’s commitment to excellence in public service and further solidifies its status as a model for local governance in the Philippines.
