On the last day of the month, the Department of Health (DOH) logged 6,684 additional new COVID-19 cases to bring the national total to 1,230,301 COVID-19 infections.
Active cases, on the other hand, reached 54,290 or 4.4 percent of the total case count.
The number of recoveries reached 6,098 today to bring to 1,155,045 the number people who have recovered from the deadly virus, or 93.9 percent of the overall COVID-19 case tally.
There were also 107 deaths today to bring to 20,966, or 1.7 percent of the total case count, the number of COVID-19 fatalities.
Last May 29, 2021, all laboratories were operational while three laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Based on data in the last 14 days, the three non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 0.4 percent of samples tested and 1.0 percent of positive individuals.
The DOH also noted that 10 duplicates were removed from the total case count, six of them are recoveries and one is a death.
Moreover, 57 cases earlier tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
