NCRPO joins nationwide earthquake drill to strengthen disaster preparedness

IN a display of dedication to public safety, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) led the 4th Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, held at the NCRPO Grandstand in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

The event was spearheaded by Police BGEN Rolly S. Octavio, Chief Regional Staff of the NCRPO, underscoring the commitment of local authorities to enhance disaster preparedness across the region.

The drill, aimed at bolstering the readiness of NCRPO personnel, focused on refining rapid response, evacuation, and rescue techniques vital for minimizing casualties and providing timely aid during natural disasters.

These exercises serve as crucial practice in a country prone to seismic activity, ensuring that first responders are fully equipped to assist and protect communities when every second counts.

The event also featured insights from key figures in emergency management. Mr. Arnazier Y. Garcia, Head Training Officer at the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) of Taguig City, and Senior Fire Officer 1 (SFO1) Ezekiel David, Leader of the Emergency Medical Service (EMS), provided feedback and guidance to enhance future responses by reinforcing skills and protocols, the NCRPO and its partners demonstrate a commitment to building a safer, more resilient community—ready to face the challenges posed by natural disasters.
