NBI files complaints against dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, Family for falsification and Anti-Dummy law violations

THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed complaints for falsification and violations of the Anti-Dummy Law against dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and four members of her family before the Department of Justice (DOJ).

NBI spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin announced on Tuesday that the complaints were filed against Guo, her parents Jiang Zhong Guo and Lin Wenyi, and her siblings Shiela and Siemen Guo.

The case stems from the purchase of four parcels of land in Mangatarem, Pangasinan, for their 3Lin-Q Farm. According to Lavin, the Guo family falsely claimed to be Filipino citizens during the transaction.

“They misrepresented themselves as Filipino citizens, but the NBI has sufficiently established that they are Chinese citizens,” Lavin stated during a press briefing.

Falsification Allegations

The family is also facing seven counts of falsification for submitting false information in documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

“They falsified the Articles of Incorporation, the Secretary’s Certificate, and the General Information Sheet,” Lavin added.

The NBI secured certifications from a barangay in Bulacan confirming that the Guo family never resided in the area, contradicting their claims in official documents.

Potential Forfeiture of Property

In addition to the complaints, the NBI is considering filing forfeiture cases to seize the properties in question, Lavin revealed.

The case highlights the government’s ongoing crackdown on violations of the Anti-Dummy Law and the use of falsified documents in land acquisitions and business registrations.
