A TASK force of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) conducted clearing operations today in Manila.

Among those targeted for clearing are barangays in Paco, Manila, where MMDA personnel towed several illegally parked vehicles along the streets.

According to Col. Bong Nebrija, the clearing team netted not lower than 37 apprehensions, while a total of 19 vehicles were towed.

Nebrija assured that their clearing operations will continue even if the agency still has no new chairman.

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has yet to designate a new MMDA chairman to replace former head Atty. Romando Artes.

For now, Flood Control and Sewerage Management Office chief Baltazar Melgar will serve as MMDA Officer-in-Charge.

Nebrija added that aside from clearing operations, other programs of the MMDA will continue and their service to the public will not be disrupted.
