THE Manila Electric Company announced that it will implement a P0.12/kwh reduction in electricity prices for the month of May.
The utility firm said the reduction is in compliance with the directive from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
According to Meralco, even if the generation charge increased by P0.35/kwh, the ERC told Meralco to give the more than P7.7 billion refund for residential customers.
This is equivalent to a reduction of P24 who consume 200/kwh and P60 for those who consume 500/kwh.
