Malabon cops help rider who was tricked by customer

A FOOD delivery rider sought the assistance of the police when he was tricked by an individual who pretended to be a customer in Potrero, Malabon City.

The rider went to the Potrero Police Sub-Station 1, under the leadership of Police Lieutenant Joseph Almayda, to lodge a complaint against a person who, pretending to be a customer, sought the service of Foodpanda but did not pay for the food items.

The driver was trying to reach him but to no avail.

Out of pity, the local police helped the rider by buying all the ordered food items that were not delivered to the customer who obviously duped the rider.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar commended the cops for helping the delivery rider.

The PNP, through its Anti-Cybercrime Group, has intensified the campaign against online scams. Recently, the PNP launched Project E-ACCESS which is aimed at helping netizens against cybercriminals that include scammers.
