Liquor ban is back in Binangonan

BINANGONAN, Rizal – Taking cue from the re-imposition of the most stringent community quarantine classification in the National Capital Region and adjoining provinces, the local government unit of Binangonan has announced the return of the total liquor ban to complement measures seen to prevent the further spread of the highly-contagious COVID-19 disease.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Cesar Ynares issued Executive Order No. 10, Series of 2021, which prohibits the sale, transportation, distribution and public consumption of all forms of alcoholic beverages in their municipality.

Under the executive order, drinking and consumption of alcoholic beverages would however be allowed provided that what would be consumed is just what is available and left in their homes. He also restricted home visits just for the purpose of a drinking session, which limits the intake among family members only.

But even as such, the local chief executive urged family members to observe physical distancing and all necessary cautions to prevent potential transmission of the virus, just in case one is already unknowingly infected.

The order is effective for the duration of the enhanced community quarantine.
