A group of lawyers has taken legal action to challenge the impeachment case filed against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Attorneys Luna Acosta, Israelito Torreon, and Martin Delgra submitted a petition to the Supreme Court today, urging the dismissal of the complaint.
Following their submission, the lawyers held a press conference where they presented a copy of their petition.
According to them, the document outlines key arguments proving why the impeachment case against the vice president should be nullified. While they did not disclose all details of their legal reasoning, they emphasized their readiness to defend their position before the court.
As of now, Vice President Duterte’s camp has yet to release an official statement on the matter. The Supreme Court’s response to the petition is highly anticipated, as it could determine the fate of the impeachment proceedings.
