Lalamove delivery man, companion nabbed in anti-drug sting

A 37-year-old Lalamove delivery man and his companion were arrested in a drug bust operation which resulted to the confiscation of more than P200,000 worth of shabu in Valenzuela City.

The suspects were identified as Danilo Gonzales, 48 and Rodney Mondejar, of Manalo Compound in Barangay Dalandanan.

Valenzuela City Police Chief Col. Fernando Ortega said that at 12:30 past midnight of Wednesday, October 28, when operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Police Lt. Robin Santos conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspects at the former’s residence at No. 6-AT. De Gula St., Barangay Marulas.

At the height of the operation, Gonzalez suddenly pulled a .45 caliber pistol of his sling bag and threatened Police Cpl. Mario Martin to shoot him once he learns out to be a police asset.

Police also said that Gonzales even introducing himself a former commander of NPA.  

After a brief transaction, Martin immediately signaled his team to apprehend Gonzales and Modejar.   

Authorities yielded the suspects with about 40 grams of shabu with street value of P272,000, other paraphernalia’s and the pistol used by Gonzales in illegal drug dealings and even used to threatened a police agent.

Police later found out that the gun is only a ‘toy gun’.

The suspects are now facing in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Illegal Possession of Firearm (gun replica).
