PANDI, Bulacan – THE Sangguniang Bayan here has adopted a resolution declaring the national spokesperson of the Kalipunan ng Damayan ng Mahihirap (KADAMAY) as persona non-grata in this town.
The declaration was made through a resolution No. 196-2020 approved at the 44th regular session of the local government legislative branch held at Roberto M. Rivera Hall in Pandi municipal building on December 14, 2020, headed by Vice Mayor Luisa Sebastian.
Persona non-grata is explicitly prohibited from going to a person or place due to lack of respect for local government.
Mayor Enrico Roque on Thursday said that local government officials cannot tolerate Doringo’s lack of respect for government officials and law enforcement.
“In a quiet and orderly community here in Pandi, there is no room for a personality like Doringo whose desire is violent and disrespectful a town leader, we will not allow their fighting ideologies to prevail over this town,” the mayor said.
It was learned that the persona non-grata was rooted in connection with the rally held by leaders and members of the KADAMAY Pandi chapter last month (November) in Village 2 (Atlantika) Barangay Mapulang Lupa wherein the said group expresses their grievances to the government regarding the issue of housing, water and power supplies in the said Pabahay site.
It was learned that allegedly the spokesperson of urban poor group, Doringo, bravely shouted at the said rally with rude words and criticism against Mayor Roque, Vice Mayor Sebastian, town councilors and acting Chief of Police P/Lt. Col. Jordan Santiago.
“Hindi namin pinayagang mag-rally ang KADAMAY nung kanilang anniversary nitong November dito sa Pandi for security and health reasons as we are still under pandemic at dahil ang ibang lalahok sa rally ay manggagaling pa sa Manila. Nung hindi naming pinayagan minura si hepe, ako, ang aking vice mayor at mga konsehal sa kanilang iligal na pagtitipon.
Hinayaan naming siyang maglabas-pasok sa bayan ng Pandi kahit nalalagay sa risk ang health at security ng buong bayan pero ‘yung bastusin niya kami sa sarili naming bayan, ibang usapan na yun,” Mayor Roque said.
