ACCORDING to Senator Imee Marcos, the birthday for her mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, was just a simple and small get together among family and friends, that was held in Malacañang last Saturday, July 2, 2022.
In an interview at the Senate, Senator Marcos said they only had a simple merienda in Malacañang to celebrate the 93rd birthday of their mother.
She said the former First Lady’s musical and arts scholars also performed, which made her mother happy.
She added that it was not really a party with lots of dancing and other festivities since majority of the attendees are already old.
When asked if the people’s money wsa used in the celebration, Senator Imee said it doesn’t look that way in her view, and she is sure that visitors brought food, which she found slightly funny.
All musical performers performed for free, then asked if it was against the law.
During the party, according to Senator Imee, the former First Lady remarked that she is the happiest person on earth since she is the only one who had a husband and a son who both became presidents, and she is still alive to have witnessed both.
In an Instagram post by Senator Imee’s son, Atty. Michael Manotoc, it can be seen that the celebration was held in a function hall in Malacañang, which is possibly the Rizal Ceremonial Hall, which is used for state dinners and other big events.
