LIGHT Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the private operator of the LRT-1 train line that runs along Taft Avenue from Baclaran in Pasay City to Monumento in Caloocan City then to Roosevelt in Quezon City, released today its 2022 Holy Week schedule.
The LRT-1 operator said it will implement a temporary suspension of its operations from April 14, 2022, which is Maundy Thursday, to April 17, 2022 or Easter Sunday.
LRMC said it will take advantage of the Holy Week suspension in its operations in order to conduct annual maintenance activities, which include annual preventive maintenance works, rail replacement, replacement of wooden sleepers, and testing of all trains prior to the resumption of revenue operations.
LRMC said these maintenance activities will allow them to be able to continuously provide safe and reliable transportation system to commuters.
The LRT-1 will follow normal operating hours from April 11-13 (Monday – Wednesday), with first trips to leave Baclaran and Balintawak by 4:30 am, and the last trips will be at 9:15 pm (LRT-1 Baclaran) and 9:30 pm (LRT-1 Balintawak).
“We are doing this annual maintenance activities to allow us to improve capacity and performance across the line, enabling us to serve our LRT-1 passengers with better, more reliable transport system. With this, we urge the riding public to plan their trips accordingly and request for their usual understanding,” LRMC Chief Operating Officer Enrico Benipayo said.
Normal operations of LRT-1 along the existing line – Baclaran to Balintawak Station will resume on April 18, 2022 (Monday).
