SANTA CRUZ, LAGUNA — Laguna Governor Sol Aragones led her first flag raising ceremony today at the Laguna Provincial Capitol, where she delivered a heartfelt message promising to prioritize the on-time release of salaries for Capitol employees—marking the start of a new, compassionate era in provincial governance.
“Public servants deserve timely compensation, fair incentives, and the respect they’ve earned,” Governor Aragones declared, drawing warm applause from government workers in attendance.
She also reaffirmed her administration’s guiding principle of “serbisyong may puso at may aksyon”—a commitment to heartfelt and action-oriented leadership. The event was filled with warmth and optimism, with employees likening her to a caring mother eager to embrace her children on their first day back home.
Leadership built on compassion, discipline, and swift action
In her address, Governor Aragones laid out a governance roadmap rooted in malasakit, disiplina, and mabilis na aksyon.
She stressed that good governance can only be achieved through genuine service and effective policy reforms.
One of her immediate directives is the strict enforcement of respectful and courteous behavior at the Capitol—for both employees and citizens seeking assistance.
“Walang lugar sa Kapitolyo ang matataray. Kung may problema, ayusin natin ito sa mahinahong paraan. Lahat tayo ay narito upang magsilbi,” she said.
Faster aid for the public, stronger support for employees
To improve service delivery, Governor Aragones also ordered the streamlining of procedures for the distribution of public assistance, especially to indigent constituents.
“‘Wag na natin pahirapan ang taong bayan. Kung may tulong, ibigay agad. ‘Yan ang tunay na serbisyo,” she emphasized.
She also committed to providing incentives, as well as ensuring the hazard pay for health workers—in recognition of their sacrifices and continued service.
Enforcing discipline and professionalism
A key part of her leadership approach is discipline in the workplace. Governor Aragones reminded all employees of the importance of punctuality and professionalism.
“Simula ngayon, bawal na ang late. Dapat bago mag-alas otso, handa na kayong magserbisyo. Disiplina sa oras, disiplina sa trabaho,” she stressed.
Moving forward, together
Ending her speech with a call for unity, Governor Aragones urged everyone to set aside the issues of past elections and work together for the good of Laguna.
“Tapos na ang eleksyon. Panahon na para magkaisa at magtrabaho. Kapag maayos ang serbisyo, magiging mas masaya ang Pasko ng bawat Lagunaeño,” she said.
“Isang bagong umaga ito para sa Kapitolyo ng Laguna — isang pamahalaang may malasakit, aksyon, at tunay na pagmamahal sa bayan,” she concluded.
