FOUR police personnel assigned in Agusan del Sur were dismissed from the police service for their involvement in a P2.7-million robbery case against a businessman.

The four were dismissed upon orders of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Dionardo Carlos.

While the investigation of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Internal Affairs Service is ongoing, Carlos said he has already instructed Caraga PNP Regional Director Police Brigadier General Romeo Caramat to place the four policemen, namely P/Sr. Master Sgt. Ronald Laro, P/Staff Sgt. Dariel John Mozo, P/Staff Sgt. Richard Ayala and Pat Ivan Klein Osoro, under restrictive custody.

Reports said the four policemen involved already surrendered to their superior officer in Butuan City after they were positively identified by the victim, businessman Jasper Salude Pabilic and tracked down using CCTV footage.

According to Pabilic’s statement, four armed men wearing bullet proof vests suddenly barged into his home in the afternoon of January 14.

The four suspects allegedly held up the victim and forcibly took cellphones, cash money worth P2.7 million, Agar woods popularly called “Lapnisan” and other personal items.
