Face-to-face classes in NCR to push through despite Omicron threat

THE Department of Education (DepEd) said that the resumption of face-to-face classes in the National Capital Region (NCR) will still push through on Monday, December 6, 2021.

The face to face classes will resume in select schools in Metro Manila despite the threat of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 disease.

The DepEd said there will not be any adjustments and they will just follow earlier plans.

As of now, there will be a total of 28 schools in the NCR that will participate in the holding of face to face classes.

These include two schools each from the cities of Caloocan, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Paranaque, Pasig, Quezon City, Taguig, Valenzuela and Las Pinas.

On the other hand, one school each from Makati. Malabon. Pasay and San Juan will participate.

Meanwhile, Director Roger Masapol, DepEd Director for Planning Services, in a radio interview, noted that there were no COVID-19 cases reported during the pilot implementation of the face-to-face classes in other areas.

What was noted, however, was that the children had difficulty in the installed plastic barriers and also in the wearing of face shields.

Masapol, noted, that the barriers and face shields can be removed anytime as long as proper social distancing and wearing of face masks is strictly complied with.
