Erap suffers relapse, sent back to ICU

BACTERIAL lung infection compelled doctors to take former president Joseph Ejercito Estrada back to the intensive care unit (ICU).

In a medical bulletin posted by Estrada’s son Jinggoy Estrada on Friday, he said that his 83-year old father has to be taken back inside the ICU for monitoring and support of his erratic blood pressure.

He has been brought back to the regular ICU (non-COVID-19) for monitoring and support of his blood pressure which fluctuated due to the said infection,” the young Estrada said in his Facebook post.

But overall, he is stable with high flow oxygen support,” Jinggoy added.

Estrada, who is turning 84 on Saturday, April 17, was first rushed to the hospital on March 28, after testing positive for the coronavirus. He was transferred from the ICU to a regular room on April 14, a day after he tested negative for COVID-19
