Enchanted Kingdom’s AGILA Flying Theater wins Top ASEAN Tourism honor

Enchanted Kingdom (EK), the Philippines’ first and only world-class theme park, entered 2026 on a high note after being recognized as one of only three Filipino companies honored by ASEAN’s most prestigious tourism awards.

Marking its 30th anniversary, EK was named Best ASEAN New Tourism Attraction for its signature flying theater, AGILA The EKsperience: SARIBUHAY, during the 35th ASEANTA Excellence Awards held on January 27 at JPark Island Resorts and Waterpark in Mactan, Cebu.

The award was received by EK Chairman and President Cesar Mario O. Mamon and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Cynthia R. Mamon as part of the 45th ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF).

The ASEANTA Excellence Awards recognize creativity, innovation, and dedication that advance the tourism industry across Southeast Asia.

“We are deeply honored and humbled to represent Filipino excellence in tourism and entertainment on this prestigious ASEAN platform,” Dr. Mamon said.

“This award fuels our commitment to continuously provide magical experiences like AGILA The EKsperience: SARIBUHAY while contributing to our shared mission of sustainable tourism.”

Introduced in 2016, AGILA The EKsperience: SARIBUHAY is the first and only flying theater in the Philippines and a key component of EK’s education program.

The attraction promotes educational tourism and national pride by showcasing the country’s natural beauty.

Relaunched in October as part of EK’s 30th anniversary celebration, the enhanced experience now delivers a stronger environmental message, highlighting the urgent need for conservation and environmental protection.

The upgraded film and thematic elements take guests on an immersive journey across Philippine landscapes and underwater worlds, featuring local marine ecosystems and endangered wildlife.

Aside from EK, two other Filipino companies were also recognized at the awards: Shroff Travel, a Muntinlupa-based destination management agency, which won Best ASEAN Travel Article, and SMX Convention Center, which was named Best ASEAN Convention Centre. Shroff Travel was represented by CEO Arjun Shroff, while Walid Wafik, Senior Vice President for Operations of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., received the award for SMX.

Guests can experience EK’s award-winning AGILA attraction and other park offerings from Wednesdays to Sundays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., subject to schedule changes.
