It was like Jingle Bell Rock!
A strong earthquake jolted Luzon residents when a Magnitude 6.3 tremor woke up many people on Christmas morning.
In an initial report, the temblor that was tectonic in origin was located 11 kms southwest of Calatagan in the province of Batangas, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Estimated depth was at 102 kms and struck at about 7:43 a.m. and lasted for about 30 seconds in some areas.
The strong tremor was also felt in several locations such as Manila, Marikina City, Quezon City, Pasig City and other cities in the NCR, and also in Cainta and Antipolo City, Rizal.
There were reports of people rushing out of condominiums and other high-rise buildings. No one was hurt or damages to infrastructure were reported as of this time.
