Duterte tops voter’s mind – Pahayag

Out of office since June 2022, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the 34 names (Table 1) listed in Pahayag Quarter 1 voting disposition made public last 23 March.

Out of sight but in the minds of the voters, Duterte got 55% to top the Senate list composed of re-electionists, news names, “balik Senado” and re-runs. Duterte received high support from Mindanao (66%) and among 30-39 years old (68%).

Doc Willie Ong, candidate for vice president in 2022 and the Senate in 2019 ranked 2 at 49% pushed by NCR at 58% and the choice of voters from 40-49 years old. Re-electionists Christopher “Bong” Go is tied with Maria Imelda “Imee” Marcos at 42% and 41% respectively. Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (36%) rounds the Top 7 tied with Vicente “Tito” Sotto (36%) and Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (35%).

The next five are Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa tied with Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro, both at 30%. Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo is at the 10th place with 28% tied with Jose Manuel “Che” Diokno at 27% and Harry Roque at 26%.

Pahayag First Quarter is an independent and non-commissioned survey conducted by PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. between 2-6 May 2023.

It is a nationwide purposive sampling survey comprised of 1,500 respondents randomly drawn from the market research panel of over 200,000 Filipinos maintained by the Singapore office of PureSpectrum, a US-based panel marketplace with multinational presence.

The sample was restricted to registered Filipino voters. Samples provided by PureSpectrum are not affiliated with any bias or political party. All opinions voiced in the interpretation and analyses of the data are those of the writer and/or project sponsor.
