DOH to put a new “price cap” on self-administered antigen test kits

A TOP officials of the Department of Health (DOH) said they plan to come up this week with a new price cap on self-administered COVID-19 antigen test kits that were approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

DOH spokesperson and Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that since the country is still under a public health emergency, P960 will be the price cap for the antigen test kit but this does not include yet the price cap for self-test kits.

Meanwhile, Vergeire said there is no prescribed limit yet on up to how many self-test kits an individual can buy because it is important that the test kits are accessible to the public.

However, the DOH and the FDA assured that if hoarding of antigen test kits happens based on their monitoring , they will act on it immediately.
