DOH reports 1,302 new COVID-19 cases

THE Department of Health (DOH) today reported 1,302 new COVID-19 cases for the period of July 24 to July 30, according to the DOH COVID-19 Bulletin issued today.

The DOH said this brings the daily average to 186 cases, which is 22-percent lower compared to the previous week of July 17 to July 23, 2023.

Among the new cases, 30 were reported in severe and critical condition. Meanwhile, there were 49 fatalities recorded, and one death occurred within July 17 up to July 30.

On July 30, 356 patients in severe and critical condition were admitted in the country’s COVID-19 hospitals. Of the 1,802 ICU beds for COVID-19 patients, 212 or 11.8 percent were occupied, while 2,413 or 15.4 percent of the 15,674 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently being utilized.

More than 78 million individuals or 100.44 percent of the target population already received their COVID-19 vaccine shots, while over 23 million got their booster shots. On the other hand, 7.1 million senior citizens or 82.16 percent of the target A2 population already got their primary series jabs.
