In its vaccine rollout update, the Department of Health (DOH) and the National Task Force Against COVID-19 announced that as of March 30, 2021, 2,596 vaccination sites are already conducting COVID-19 vaccination in various sites across all regions around the country.
With the recent arrival of 1 million doses of procured vaccines, the total number of available doses have doubled to 2,525,600. Doses distributed throughout the country have significantly increased, with a total of 1,468,200 doses delivered, or about 58 percent of the total number of doses available.
The National Capital Region has started administering the second dose for the vaccinees, particularly among Health Care Workers (HCWs), thus maximizing protection for them.
Also, vaccination for senior citizens and persons with comorbidities has begun to enable more vulnerable Filipinos to get protection from the dreaded disease.
The recent arrival of additional doses in the country is also expected to allow the government to expand vaccination to more priority groups and protect more people.
