DOCTORS who administered the unsanctioned vaccination may lose their licenses, says the Department of Health.
At the Laging Handa press briefing, Health Secretary Francisco Duque said that their agency is already closely coordinating with the Professional Regulatory Commission to determine liabilities which may have been breached in the process of injecting unregistered vaccines to the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines – particularly members of the Presidential Security Group.
“Makikipag-ugnayan po ang Departamento ng Kalusugan sa PRC para tignan kung ano po ba ang mga kalalabasan ng investigation, kung sino po ba ang mananagot,” Duque was quoted as saying during the news conference.
DOH however would have to wait for the result of an investigation being conducted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte revealed that some members of the military had received a COVID-19 vaccine from Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm.
Aside from the President, PSG commander Brigadier General Jesus Durante, himself, admitted that his unit acquired the COVID-19 vaccine for free. He however declined to elaborate on details as to who, where or how they got the unregistered vaccines they “injected among themselves.”
Moreover, Durante warded off criticisms hurled against them, adding what they did was simply to make sure that they did not pose a health threat to the President.
