Cruz-Marohombsar and Company (CMC) joins the BDO network

CMC in The Philippines announced that it joined BDO, the fifth-largest accountancy network in the world composed of independent public accounting, tax and advisory firms which are members of BDO International Limited, a UK company limited by guarantee, starting last October 2, 2023.

The new firm will carry the name BDO CMC, which is led by a team of experienced and future-oriented accounting professionals as it combines deeply embedded local roots with a strong global network.

We believe that client relationships are based not only on technical excellence, but equally on human relationships of respect, trust, and transparency,” shares BDO CMC Managing Partner David Cruz.

Cruz has 20 years of professional experience with the Philippines’ Big 4 firms, providing audit, advisory, and outsourcing services to multinational and local clients across a multitude of industries.

He is joined by his deputy, Mohammad Zidni Marohombsar, who brings with him nearly two decades of professional accounting experience, including stints as a specialist on matters of public sector, as well as project and public financial management to multilateral development organizations. He has worked with one of the largest accounting firms in the Philippines and has been involved in projects for the Asian Development Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development and the World Bank.

Rounding up the team are BDO CMC Partner Riazel Bontia and Head of Tax Atty. Benedict Ines. Bontia has extensive experience working with companies such as Ayala Land, Inc., Deutsche Knowledge Services Pte. Ltd and Maxicare Healthcare, Corp. Meanwhile, Atty. Ines brings with him 14 years of experience in taxation, corporate law, and litigation with organizations that include two accounting firms in the Philippines, the ARC Group of Companies, and the provincial government of Bataan.

This core group was formed at the start of 2021 with the goal of elevating the country’s public accounting practice by delivering quality service with impeccable commitment and integrity. With their formal appointment into the BDO network, it is time for BDO CMC to lead in the Philippines.

As at 30 September 2022, the BDO network has a total combined fee income of more than US$12.8 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of 12.1 percent. The BDO member-firms provide professional services in 164 countries, with 111,307 people working out of 1,803 offices worldwide.
