A total of 7,255 new COVID-19 cases were added today, which brings the overall case tally to reach 1,062,225 persons infected by the deadly virus.
Based on the Department of Health (DOH) COVID-19 Case Bulletin #415, 9,214 new recoveries were recorded today for a total of 975,234 recoveries from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, there are 94 new deaths today, which brings the total to 17,525 deaths from COVID-19.
On the other hand, the number of active cases sank to a low 69,466 count.
The DOH said the low case count today was due to non-submission of data by laboratories last Saturday, May 1, 2021.
The agency said it continues to work with the laboratories to ensure regular submission of data every day.
