The Department of Health (DOH) COVID-19 Case Bulletin #413 was released today, the first day of May 2021, and showed that an additional 9,226 new COVID-19 cases were recorded.
This brings the overall COVID-19 case tally to 1,046,653.
The recovery rate, meanwhile, went back to the 10,000-plus level with 10,809 recoveries recorded.
The number of deaths, on the other hand, recorded 120 deaths today.
In the overall case tally, 6.9 percent or 72,248 are active cases, 91.4 percent or 957,051 have recovered, with 1.66 percent or 17,354 listed as deaths..
A total of 33 duplicates were removed from the total case count, where 22 are listed as recoveries.
Also, after final validation, 54 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths.
All of the accredited laboratories were operational on April 29, 2021. Meanwhile, four laboratories failed to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
