Day Four of the Enhanced Community Quarantine again registered upward numbers of more than 8,000 new COVID-19 cases today, says the latest bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH).
DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin #383 showed an additional 8,920 single-day count of new COVID-19 cases today to bring the number of active cases to a 138,948 total.
Thus, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country reached 756,199 overall.
New recoveries today were at 205 to bring total recoveries to 603,948 but the number of deaths sank to only six for a 13,303 COVID-19 deaths total.
Of all the cases, about 98.5 percent are either mild (95.9 percent) or asymptomatic (2.5 percent).
With the spike of COVID-19 cases in the country, the DOH stressed that strict implementation of the Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat and Reintegrate (PDITR) strategy of Local Government Units, together with continuous adherence to the Minimum Health Protocols of the public, can help cut down COVID-19 transmission.
