The City’s Department of Health (DOH) relentless campaign welcomed the response to COVID-19 due to sudden dropped in the number of active cases.
According to Dr. Corazon L. Flores, head of the Metro Manila-Center for Health Development, its all because of the asserted efforts by the local government unit of Parañaque City under Mayor Edwin Olivarez and members of the local Task Force Covid-19 and medical frontliners.
“For months, the City of Parañaque government has taken drastic actions to contain the virus and save as many lives as possible. They deserve to receive the COVID-19 Response Service Award from the DOH,” Flores stressed.
According to the latest data from the Parañaque Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), there are a total of 6,597 confirmed cases of which 6,337 or 96 percent are recoveries and 166 or 2.5% deaths.
It was learned that Barangay Vitalez has zero COVID active cases from the recorded 116 confirmed cases, with only one casualty while Barangay Sun Valley has only one active case out of 526 confirmed cases.

While the largest community inside subdivision in Barangay BF Homes has also dropped to 8 active cases from 737 confirmed cases.
The three mentioned barangays were recently subjected to lockdown to slow down the spread of the virus.
The mayor praised and appreciated the sacrifices and bravery of medical workers including doctors, nurses and other frontliners in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“But let us not be complacent. We must all continue with our effective interventions and adherence to health and safety protocols in San Juan to further bring down the number of cases,” Olivarez told residents and city hall employees.
The city was not included in what University of the Philippines researchers identified as one of the areas at risk for deadly diseases in Metro Manila due to the rising average of new cases in six weeks.
Parañaque is one of the lowest ranked in the daily rate of Covid-19 attack in Metro Manila.
