FORMER Tarlac policeman and now a Person Deprived of Liberty Joel Nuezca is dead.
In a statement from the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), Nuezca apparently collapsed on the floor of their dormitory at the National Bilibid Prison (NBP) last night, November 30.
He was declared dead around 6:44 pm.
Nuezca was brought to the NBP Hospital after he collapsed while walking outside their dormitory building with an unknown companion. He was discovered unconscious by his cell mates around 6:30 pm.
Cause of death is still unknown, and an autopsy will be performed, while investigation is ongoing to determine if there was foul play.
Nuezca was involved in the fatal shooting of a mother and son, Sonya and Frank Gregorio, in Paniqui, Tarlac last December 2020 over apparently a land dispute. He was convicted and meted with two life sentences.
A video was taken of the incident, which became viral.
