Converge boosts home internet speeds to ease impact of rising fuel costs nationwide

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. launched a nationwide speed increase for its FiberX subscribers to cushion the economic impact of the ongoing fuel crisis by facilitating more efficient remote work and digital access.

In a statement sent to FrontpagePH.com, the fiber broadband provider announced it has added an automatic 50 Mbps to its flagship plans at no additional cost, a move intended to support households as rising transportation expenses force more Filipinos to shift their daily activities back into the home.

CEO and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy noted that the initiative serves as a direct response to calls from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the Department of Information and Communications Technology to help ease the financial burden of soaring oil prices.

By enhancing connectivity, the company expects to streamline essential digital tasks such as video conferencing, online schooling, and telehealth services, which have become vital alternatives to physical commuting.

This temporary speed boost is currently scheduled to remain in effect through April 30, 2026, applying to both new and existing customers as part of the company’s broader effort to maintain digital inclusivity during periods of significant economic and social challenge.
