CAMP BGEN.PACIANO RIZAL – Illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic materials worth Php 371,190 were disposed of by the Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) last December 31, 2020 from a three-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) conducted province-wide for three days for “Ligtas Paskuhan 2020.”
LPPO Provincial Director Police Colonel Serafin Petalio II, together with personnel of the PNP Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and members of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) soaked in water the 52 bundles of kwitis, 579 pieces of assorted sizes of fountains and fireworks, one sack of fountain, 1,269 assorted sizes of “Lusis,” 62 pieces of Judas’ Belt, one piece of boga, 4 pieces of giant trumpillo, two pieces of whiski, 14 boxes of pop up, 43 boxes of five star, 41 boxes of piccolo, 240 boxes of whistle bomb, 100 pieces of Roman Candle sticks, 1,170 pieces of sparklers, 871 boxes of baby rockets, 29 pieces red crackers, 23 pieces of dragon egg thunders, 14 pieces of tong cailei flute, 144 pieces of dragon egg, 60 pieces of meteor sky, 30 pieces of happy balls, and three pieces of starter strings, all confiscated from different police stations in the province .
The Laguna PNP conducted also continuous campaigns and operations in relation to the implementation of EO 28 (Providing for the Regulation and Control of the Use of Firecrackers and Other Pyrotechnic Devices) in relation to R.A 7183 (An Act Regulating the Sale, Manufacture, Distribution and Use of Firecrackers and Other Pyrotechnic Devices) to make sure that these regulations will still be observed.
No incidents on stray bullets, illegal discharge of firearms, and fire incidents due to firecrackers were recorded. while intensified patrolling and monitoring of indiscriminate firing during the New Year’s Eve were also implemented.
And also following Inter-Agency Task Force or IATF guidelines, prohibition on mass gatherings, non-wearing of protective equipment (face mask and face shield), and observance of physical distancing to avoid the spread of the coronavirus were also strictly observed.
