Comelec sets March 7 deadline for local absentee voting listup

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) reminded select individuals of the March 7, 2025 deadline to file their local absentee voting (LAV) forms in designated areas to be able to vote during the May 2025 mid-term elections.

The poll body said individuals who may avail of the LAV include government officials and employees, members of the military (Armed Forces of the Philippines) and police (Philippine National Police), the media (journalists from print, broadcast, online, photojournalists, documentary makers, television and radio production staff, bloggers, and freelancers).

People from the groups mentioned may cast ballots through LAV if they will not be able to vote on election day due to the performance of duties, like being assigned to an area where they are not registered voters in the case of the police or military, or when doing media coverage of the elections for members of the media.

The Local Absentee Voting will be held on April 28, 29, and 30 from 8 am to 5 pm.

For government officials and employes, military and police, they can file their LAV forms with their head office, supervisors, commanders, or through their next-in-rank officers.

Members of the media, on the other hand, may file their LAV application through the Comelec’s Office of the Regional Election Director – National Capital Region, office of the city election officer for those living in highly urbanized or independent cities outside of Metro Manila, or the office of the provincial election supervisor.
