MORE than 100 party-list group applications were denied participation in next year’s national polls by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

In Comelec Resolution 10735 issued last December 1, the poll body rejected the motions for reconsideration filed by 107 party-list groups, among them were Nurses United, Pasahero, Ayuda, Ang Tanod, LGBTQ Plus, Solo Parents, Bahay Kubo, and Pesante.

The Comelec also identified 13 other groups that have pending incidents, including Mocha Uson’s Mothers for Change, celebrity chef Boy Logro’s Aangat Kusinerong Pinoy and the Malasakit Movement of former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority spokesperson Celine Pialago.

As of now, the Comelec approved a total of 165 party-list groups.

The groups’ names will be included in the raffle to be held December 10 to determine the groups’ listing on the official ballot.

On election day, May 9, 2022, voters can vote for only one party-list group.
