CLFI, Itogon Municipality join forces for community development & education

Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation Inc. (CLFI), in collaboration with the Municipality of Itogon, Benguet, has initiated a significant partnership aimed at fostering sustainable growth and prosperity within the community. The momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, held last 22 March 2024, solidified their shared commitment to building a brighter future for residents.

The core of this collaborative effort is the shared vision of ensuring financial inclusion and empowerment for all members of the community. By focusing on initiatives centered around financial literacy and inclusion, CLFI and Itogon Municipality aspire to provide residents with the necessary knowledge and resources to secure their financial futures.

“Our partnership with Itogon Municipality marks a significant step towards building resilient communities where every individual thrives. By prioritizing community development, we pave the way for inclusive growth, with financial inclusion as the cornerstone of our shared vision for a brighter future,” according to Jean Henri Lhuillier, President, and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier, as he highlights the importance of partnering with the local municipality to effectively address the community’s needs.

Through targeted programs and strategic interventions, CLFI and Itogon Municipality aim to create an environment where individuals can make informed financial decisions and work toward economic stability. By promoting saving, investing, and financial prudence, they envision a community where financial well-being is accessible to all.

The MOU signing ceremony was also an occasion to celebrate local culture and traditions, with CLFI and PJ Lhuillier Group of Companies employees joining Itogon Benguet constituents in cultural performances, symbolizing unity and shared objectives.

CLFI’s delegation included Executive Director Mr. Jonathan D. Batangan, PCR Department Head Ms. Rhodora M. Gella, and PJ Lhuillier Group of Companies Chief Administrative Officer Ms. Jo-Ann Y. Tacorda. Itogon Benguet Mayor Honorable Bernard S. Waclin represented the municipality, reaffirming their commitment to community welfare.

In addition to community-building efforts, CLFI contributed to enhancing educational opportunities by providing ICT equipment and free ProtectMax Insurance to ALS learners, generously donated by Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Brokers (CLIB). This comprehensive approach ensures that learners have the necessary tools for academic advancement and meaningful insurance coverage, laying the groundwork for a promising future for generations to come.

As CLFI continues its partnership with Itogon Municipality, the foundation remains dedicated to its mission of nurturing strong, empowered communities where financial inclusion is not just an aspiration but a reality.
