A Filipino billiard player has again won the prestigious US 9-Ball Pool Championship today.
Carlo Biado has won the 2021 edition of the tournament by beating Aloysius Yapp of Singapore at Harrah’s Resort, Atlantic City, 13-8.
The last time the Philippines conquered the US Open was in 1994 with the legendary Efren “Bata” Reyes dominating the competition.
It could have been an All-Filipino finals match if only Pinoy billiard star Dennis Orcollo survived Yapp in the semifinals.
This year, 256 of the best pool players in the world joined to vie for the title.
