Bulacan allocates P130M for vaccine

MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan— The provincial government of Bulacan has set aside P130 million standby fund for the COVID-19 vaccine for the 2.5 million qualified Bulakenyos as the said vaccine is expected to arrive next month.

According to Governor Daniel Fernando, the allocation also includes the purchase of 5 to 6 freezers that will house the vaccines.

The governor said that 70 percent of the Bulacan population or 2.5 million individuals will benefit from the COVID-19 vaccine.

Because the national government will lead the mass vaccination, he said, and there are local governments in Bulacan that will buy their own supplies, the Capitol will fill in if more supplies are needed.

Fernando openly said that the province is ready for the arrival of the vaccine where the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center will be the designated vaccination center.

According to Fernando, 833 frontliners will be vaccinated first where he encourages qualified Bulakenyos to get vaccinated so that everyone can return to normal.

Meanwhile, as the Bulacan Vaccination Center, its interior has been equipped with six partitions in accordance with the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF- EID) where it includes a waiting area, registration area, counseling area, screening area, vaccination area and observation area.
