“Our crime rate continues to go down since I assumed office last September 30.”
This was announced by Bataan Police OIC-Provincial Director Col. Joel K. Tampis during his 1st press conference with Bataan local newsmen at the Camp Cirilo Tolentino in Balanga City on Monday, November 2.
“We never stop conducting our anti-illegal gambling and anti-illegal drugs operations. We are targetting a drug-cleared Bataan and once we received information regarding a drug personality, I ask my men to arrest that person within the month,” Tampis added.
Recently, 19 persons were arrested during anti-criminality and anti-illegal drugs campaigns from various towns of the province. The operations were conducted from October 21-27, 2020 that resulted to the arrest of 4 drug personalities from Mariveles, Orani and Balanga City; arrests of 9 wanted persons and 6 persons apprehended for violating other laws and ordinances.
Bataan, the official added, is considered as one of the most peaceful province not just in Cebtral Luzon but the whole country as well because of the strong leadership and business friendly approach of Bataan Governor Abet Garcia.
Meanwhile, after Typhoon Rolly has left the Province of Bataan and the Philippine area of responsibility, Col. Tampis immediately proceeded to major public and private cemeteries and memorial parks for monitoring and inspection.
Together with his respective chiefs of police and their personnel, Col. Tampis said he wanted to make sure that the implementing guidelines of Bataan and national IATF were strictly followed.
Tampis added that he deployed 18 teams from Bataan Police and have helped the Bataan PDRRMO in conducting preventive and forced evacuation in coastal and low-lying areas at the height of Typhoon Rolly last Sunday November 1.
