A 30-YEAR-OLD female motorcycle backrider was killed when their motorcycle was sideswiped by an oil tanker along the National Road in Barangay Palihan, Hermosa, Bataan, Thursday morning.
According to a report from Police Major Melanio Santiago, chief of police of the Hermosa PNP, the fatality was identified as Jonabel Catahan, a resident of Mandama, Hermosa, Bataan.
The report stated that the victim was with Philip Bermudo, who only sustained minor injuries, on board a Honda Beat motorcycle.
While traversing the road towards San Fernando City, Pampanga, an approaching tanker truck (NFZ-6923) driven by Rey Hemota, sideswiped their motorcycle and as a result, the victim’s head (Catahan) was crushed to the ground resulting to her instant death.
A case of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide with Physical Injuries and Damage to Property is being prepared against the truck driver.
