Arrested Comelec gun ban violators now at almost 2,000 — PNP

THE number of arrested violators of the gun ban being implemented by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) keeps increasing.

Based on data released by the Philippine National Police (PNP), the number of individuals arrested for violating the gun ban has reached 1,853.

Out of the total number of people arrested, about 1,785 were civilians, 27 were security guards, 15 police personnel and nine soldiers.

The National Capital Region (NCR) still leads with the most number of arrests, followed by Regions 7, 4-A, 3 and 6.

Meanwhile, around 1,428 firearms were already confiscated by the PNP during the gun ban.
