PLACING areas under Alert level 3 will create a slowdown in businesses, according to Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Secretary Joey Concepcion.

He said the business sector feels the impact whenever Metro Manila and other areas are placed under Alert Level 3, according to Concepcion during the Laging Handa briefing.

Many businesses have closed shop and this affected the momentum in efforts to revive the economy.

He explained that it’s a good thing that plans to place Metro Manila under Alert Level 4 did not push through because this will severely impact the economy.

However, Concepcion believes that the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases will slow down by the end of January or February based on predictions of experts.

To help the private sector, he said providing companies with vaccines and booster doses should also continue.

Concepcion also revealed that they are already in talks with suppliers of the anti-viral drug Molnupiravir to help provide small businesses with access to the new drug.
