Almost One Million Evacuees Due to Typhoon Rolly

Due to Super Typhoon Rolly (international name: Goni) there area now almost a million residents in the Bicol region who were forced to flee from their homes.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported this ahead from the landfall of typhoon Rolly in Bato town, Catanduanes early Sunday, national disaster officials said.

Due to flooding, landslide, lahar, and storm surges, NDRRMC spokesman Mark Timbal confirmed that almost 1 million people in the Bicol have been evacuated. This will also be done in nearby regions

In the 5:00am bulletin of “Rolly,” the typhoon is packing 225 kph maximum sustained winds near the center and gusts of up to 280 kph.
