A total of 2,988 vaccination sites are already conducting vaccination in various sites across all regions.
An additional 500,000 doses arrived in the country last Sunday, making the total available doses in the country at more than 3 million doses. About 92.58 percent, or more than 2.8 million, of the doses have been distributed already to different regions throughout the country. In a span of 1 week, almost 900k doses were successfully distributed to all the regions, a testament to the government’s logistics handling and cold chain and shows the government’s readiness to distribute vaccines quickly once the bulk of the vaccine doses from negotiations and from the COVAX facility arrive.
From the distributed doses, over 1 million, or about 1,093,651 Filipinos, from healthcare workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities have been afforded partial protection already with the administration of the first dose.
Meanwhile, of the total Filipinos who received their first doses, 162,065 have been given their 2nd doses of the vaccine, thereby affording them the full protection and benefits that vaccines provide.
With the sustained high number of cases in the country, the government has strengthened its collaboration with the private sector to boost the vaccine deployment program through expedited rollout of vaccines to economic frontliners under the A4 priority group. This partnership will allow the government to protect more Filipinos much quicker, and will allow for a larger-scale rollout of vaccines upon arrival of the procured and donated vaccines come midyear.
