Silang farmers are set to receive a total of 3,000 tissue-cultured banana seedlings through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Silang in Batangas.
This assistance from the regional office aims to give Taal-affected farmers alternative source of income after their livelihoods were severely damaged by the volcano explosion earlier this year.
According to Silang MAO Adelia V. Poblete, the distribution is still on going until supplies last and that farmers can avail of this intervention by contacting their office.
As of September 28, a total of 57 farmers have already benefitted from this intervention from the regional office.
