THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) named an acting spokesperson a few days before the elections.
In a memorandum issued today, Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan designated Atty. John Rex Laudiangco, Director III of the Comelec’s Law Department, as the poll body’s Acting Spokesperson.
Atty. Laudiangco will report directly to Comelec Commissioner Atty. George Erwin Garcia, who serves as the Commissioner-in-Charge on Public Information and Education.
He will replace James Jimenez, the poll body’s spokesperson for the past 15 years.
Jimenez, however, will remain as Director of the Comelec’s Education and Information Department.
