MARIVELES, Bataan — Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower), through its subsidiaries GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin (GNPD), conducted a five-day relief operation from July 21 to 25, distributing 1,900 relief packs to communities in Bataan affected by recent flooding and adverse weather.
The relief drive covered six municipalities—Mariveles, Samal, Orani, Hermosa, Morong, and Bagac—with priority given to both coastal and upland barangays severely impacted by the calamities.
According to company officials, the initiative aimed to deliver immediate aid and demonstrate solidarity with affected residents.In Hermosa, the distribution was led by GMEC and GNPD Reputation and Stakeholder Management Supervisor Joseph Chavez, together with employees and volunteers from both firms.
The teams coordinated with local government units, barangay leaders, and community members to ensure timely and efficient delivery of assistance.
Relief packs were formally turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Mariveles, as well as to local officials from Samal and Orani.
Additional support was also extended to the Abucay Upland Farmers Association (ABUFAI), a partner group involved in AboitizPower’s Bambusetum reforestation project.
In a statement, AboitizPower said the relief operations reflect the company’s commitment to responsive community engagement.

Volunteers from GMEC, GNPD, and the beneficiary communities embodied the spirit of bayanihan throughout the effort.
