₱802-M shabu seized in Mariveles shoreline anti-drug operation

Authorities seized an estimated ₱802.4 million worth of suspected shabu in a joint anti-drug operation along the shores of Barangay Sisiman, Mariveles, on Wednesday.

The Mariveles Municipal Police Station, Bataan Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, other units of PRO3, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bataan discovered six sacks containing 118 packages of illegal drugs near the barangay’s lighthouse.

The haul weighed a total of 118 kilos.

Police said the operation was launched following a tip from a concerned citizen, enabling law enforcers to intercept the contraband before it could be smuggled.

PBGen Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., PRO3 Regional Director, lauded both the informant and the operating units for their swift and coordinated response, stressing that community cooperation is a powerful weapon in the fight against illegal drugs and in ensuring safer communities.
