Biñan City Rep. Walfredo Dimaguila Jr. named Assistant Majority Leader in 20th Congress

Biñan City Representative Walfredo “Arman” Dimaguila Jr. has been elected as one of the new Assistant Majority Leaders in the House of Representatives as part of the ongoing reorganization efforts for the 20th Congress.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, as the House continued to fill key leadership positions following the opening of the new congressional session. Dimaguila joins Representatives Antonino Roman III of Bataan and Ricardo Cruz Jr. of Taguig-Pateros as Assistant Majority Leaders. Cebu City Representative Eduardo Rama was also elected as Deputy Majority Leader.

Together, they will support House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos of Ilocos Norte, who also chairs the influential Committee on Rules. The leadership team is tasked with managing the flow of legislative measures and steering discussions on the House floor.

Representative Dimaguila, a former mayor of Biñan and a seasoned local executive, is expected to bring practical experience and a strong policy perspective to his new leadership role in Congress.

In the same session, several committee chairpersons were also named, reinforcing the House leadership’s commitment to stability, expertise-based assignments, and regional representation.

Among those retained as committee chairs were:

Gerville Luistro of Batangas was appointed Chairperson of the Committee on Justice, following her role in the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.
