In a situation released by the PPA, it said they expect a total of around 1,155,238 port passengers who will go to PPA ports from May 9 up to May 13. The number represents an increase of about five percent compared to the 1,100,227 maritime passengers during the 2022 elections.

The PPA also noted long lines of passengers at the Matnog Port under PMO Bicol from May 2, while additional ships were requested to head to the Matnog, Sorsogon – Allen, Northern Samar route.
The agency likewise assured the support of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) through the issuance of port access and priority loading/unloading election-related cargo and coordinating with shipping lines and port terminal operators to ensure proper handling of cargo.
Regarding logistical coordination and support, the PPA said it will provide assistance to the Comelec, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police, especially for faraway islands and other far-flung areas.
In order to assure the safety and security of maritime passengers, PPA terminal personnel will also be on standby in case of emergencies, while prioritizing cargo security.
